This is Paul Gardalen's YSR/YZ250 two stroke. It uses the old "YSR-From-Hell" frame, 1987 YZ250 two stroke powervalve motor, Chad Wright Performance swingarm, my original 4 piston brake, Fox shock, Calamari top clamp and fork brace. The frame is powder coated a very dark gray color by Handy Industries in Marshalltown.

The frame is substantially beefier than it was with the YSR/YZ125 when I first built it, although it still has a tendency to break engine mount bolts from vibration and still puts your feet to sleep after about 1/2 hour of riding.

This particular engine came from a flat track bike and was ported to have exceptionally good low rpm torque. It certainly paid off in spades with off corner acceleration, better than any bike at the track.

The pipe is a hand made piece from an aftermarket company that sent the stampings to Paul and he cut and fit it together. The silencer is off a TZ250. This bike weighs in at 202 LB race ready, 31 LB lighter than my YSR426F.

Paul is probably one of the best YSR racers I have ever witnessed and he can fly on this bike. He's been the track champ at Iowa now for about 10 years now, this bike helps him maintain that title!
